"Love After Love" was a poem first published in 1976 in the book Sea Grapes. Read the poem, paying attention to the details and literary devices that Walcott used, and write a short analysis of the poem (100 words) in which you answer: What is the idea of love that Walcott showed along the poem?

THE MOMENT I ARRIVE THE GREETING ON THE PLACE AT THE DOOR IN THE MIRROR HE SMILES IN WELCOME
WHERE HE EATS WHERE HE RETURNS THE HEART WHERE HE IS LOVED WHERE ALL LIFE IS IGNORE BUT SHOULD HAVE A MEMORY UNDER THE LOVE LETTER
-“Give back your heart to itself, to the stranger who has loved you all your life, whom you ignored for another, who knows you by heart.”
in that sentence the whole poem is understood, self-love something so important that we always forget, loving ourselves, we look for happiness in other places, forgetting ourselves, so also with love, we look for it everywhere forgetting that It is in front of us, when we look in the mirror we see our reflection, we see happiness and love within us, welcoming ourselves after forgetting and leaving ourselves behind
The importance of self-love, shown throughout the poem, and the happiness within ourselves.
-I recommend the poem, since it shows how we ourselves are the solution to several problems such as that we always look for love and happiness in all parts except ourselves, forgetting ourselves, leaving us aside, and this poem clarifies many things for us Besides, the poem is very easy to understand, and express things very clear.
What I understood from the poem love after love, is basicly that the love we consider that is " after love", its the one we achieve when we focus on the self-love which needs to be achieved after the acnowledge of having another person love. Therefore it could be called a consequence of a first love.
( Mateo Galindo ) in the poem we see how it focuses on love but not on any kind of love, it focuses on self-love which describes it as a consequence of the love of another person
that's why it's called love after love
What I could analyze from the poem "love after love" is that the kind of love that Walcott expresses in the poem is a love based on the self-care that we should enjoy. Although a very small poem, Walcott is able to describe the need to "self-love" after a relationship break down. Taking out all possible doors to the painfull memories, is the first step for becoming "whole" again through self-recognition and by self-conscious ideas.
I would recommend it, it is quite easy to read, it is short and precise. In addition, it conveys a very beautiful message in a different way, and each person can interpret or relate it in various ways.
According to the poem, the author speaks of self-love. It describes those simple moments where we once again remember who we are, what we are worth and the love we feel for ourselves, which sometimes is forgotten or left behind. It is a moment and feeling where we are aware that self-love is really the only thing that always accompanies us, and depends on us. The way the author describes it is pretty cute... "in your own mirror and each will smile at the other's welcome" "and say, sit Feast on your life"
the idea of loveof Walcott, is expressed by the idea of accepting circumstances and don't matter the past experiences is important to be strong, to continue by this meaning try to push away all the objects that aren't making possible continue with your life without remeber the last love.
Although a very small poem, Walcott is able to describe the need to "self-love" after a relation break down. Using multiple metaphors, Walcott talks about loving one self and forgetting the past bad memories. Taking out all possible doors to the painfull memories, is the first step for becoming "whole" again through self-recognition and by self-conscious ideas. He refers to the other person in the relation as "the stranger" or "another "(...) who has loved you." He does this to constantly remind the reader, that the relation once was. Meaning it was in the past, and so, there's nothing to worry about in the present.
In the poem he tells us that Walcott is going to meet that love and that love is going to come little by little, that it is a process that he is going to enjoy, and that he is going to end up loving that process for what he is going to try to remember that, and that he should ignore the things that affected him in the past or that are disturbing him, that he should go to that hard-earned love and that he should enjoy life, in this poem we can identify that what he is looking for is that self-love that everyone should have and how can we work this and enjoy it
I will surely recommend this poem since it has a really reflexive massage that maybe can help or inspire someone else to ignore that fear of being alone or without a partner or a couple, I will also recommend the poem because is very simple and easy to understand, but it sounds so special and beautiful.
What I could analyze from the poem "love after love" is that the kind of love that Walcott expresses in the poem is a love based on the self-care that we should enjoy. I think it is that kind of purpose that most of us have, where we want to be able to be happy being single or alone, enjoying spending time with ourselves and meeting us, being able to forgive us and comprehend us about every decision we have made or took, this also refers to the possibility of having time to heal things and issues that maybe we were earning and have heart us, being able to move on with the problems and being able to let things go and be enjoying and loving ourselves.
It seems to me that the poem is very intelligent and also very explicit since we realize what the author wanted to express, I would recommend the poem because I think it is very nice.
the idea of love that walcott says in this poem is that you are going to look in the mirror and you are going to see how that smile comes out, you are going to fall in love with yourself and all that will be that your heart breaks and everything the life you ignored that person who knew your heart.
