Read chapter 5, chapter 6, and chapter 7 of Brave New World book. Answer the following questions once you have finished reading the three chapters.
1. On Chapter 5, Huxley uses alliteration to describe Lenina’s childhood discovery of the hypnopædia devices. Examine the structure of this passage. What makes Huxley’s use of language especially effective?
2. Why is Bernard disappointed when he sleeps with Lenina on their first date? How does Lenina respond to his suggestion that it would have been better to have waited? Do you feel that this interaction is dated by the time Huxley was writing in, or still relevant today?
3. What is the Savage Reservation? Who lives there? How do they control the inhabitants and how is it different from the way people in civilization are controlled?
4. What happens in the religious ceremonies that Lenina and Bernard witness? What do you think is the purpose of the ceremony? What religions does it seem to be based on?
Huxelys makes a very good use of language since the one he whispered to when he was a child is the same one he slept with every night
He wanted to feel a kind of passion in a very crazy place where nothing made sense while she was reading the hypnopedic guide and at that moment she says that people have their own happiness because nobody has control over them and they can do anything
what the text says about the wild reserve is that in that area in which there is no type of electrical device or the same technology, they will be considered by the state as the savages and they have very strange customs that were learned from the natives Americans ZUÑI
In the religious ceremony of Lenina and Bernard is based on having black hissing snakes as essentials and a young person has to stand in the middle while being whipped and all this being whipped was a kind of sacrifice to attract rain and water the corn.
Huxley is employing this language in order to induct and play by the narrator voice, wich was used to induct or conduct her sleep.
He was dissapointed because there was no passion, only a meaningless moment, he wanted to get laid with true emotions. Lenina was kind off confused, both where troubled in feelings of fake desire and desilution.
The savage reservation is a place apart from world state, where humans live, breed, believe in spirituality, die and grow with no process or technologies that are used in the "uthupical" sector of the planet, they remain "savage".
It was some sort of pre-colombine style ritual, they would play percussion drums with polyrythms, with black snakes hissing syncopated while they where whipping and young mate's ass, this was done in order to summon rain so the corn harvest would grow. This is so similar to rituals that where done by previous civilizations.

The use of Huxley's language is effective, as the voice actress used to mumble once as a child, putting her to sleep every night.
I wanted to feel passion instead of it being meaningless. She reads a hypnopedic handbook that says the population is happy because they do what they want.
Wild Reserve is where you can still find original people like those before Ford and the whole new society. The difference between the old and the new society is that in the new society the population cannot age, but in the native society the population can still grow old, by the way, the new society loves Ford, but in the native society people still age. have certain symbols and practices similar to Christianity, in addition, the new society is brainwashed, but the original is not.
the religious ceremony is mainly based on the presence of hissing black snakes and the spanking of a teenager. His goal was to make it rain so that the corn
1 - According to chapter 5, Huxley uses effective language for the narrator since he is whispering when she was a child and every time she slept at night. 2- He wanted or desire to feel passionate instead of feeling insignificant. They control this by a physical thing that was a tradition in the Zuñi Native America. 4- The religious ceremony was a beating of drums, that's how they did it; and black snakes hissing and a young man in the middle being flogged.
Huxley's language was so effective, not just because of the aliteration, also because because the narrator was wispering when she was child and everytime she fall asleep and the use of the words also helps in the effectivity of the language
Berdard was dessapointed because he wanted to fell pasion, and, as the text said, Bernard was part of a grup that adores Ford and they did adcivitis with soma in honor to ford and fell renewed, but for some reason, Bernard wasnt feeling part of the group, Also I think that the interaction is not dated by the time Huxley was writing, because we are talking of a future society in wich the plasure is like a god, which I think is not 100% persent posible in our time.
The savage reservation is a place where you can still find native humans like the ones before Ford and all the new society. They saw a strange ceremony with blood sacrifices and by the sign of the cross, I think that the objective of the ceremony is to pay tribute to someone similar ti God like in the ancient comunnities and I think they were inspired by ancient cristianism and other religions
